Kimberly is a native of San Diego and earned her Master of Science in Nursing in 2019 from California State University San Marcos and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from San Diego State University. She completed her clinical rotation at VA Hospital in San Diego where she saw clients in an outpatient setting and did group therapy for Veterans with co-occurring dual diagnosis. Kimberly was a psychiatric nurse at Bayview Hospital for 6 years before pursuing her MSN as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She has also worked in an outpatient clinic providing services for underserved population in San Diego.

Kimberly has worked with patients of all ages suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, post-partum depression and ADHD. She has worked with transitional aged youth (17-26yo) who experience serious and pervasive mental illness and are at risk for homelessness. She ensures wrap-around treatment, making sure individuals needs for supportive therapy, medication management, employment, housing, community, peer support, and linkage for resources are met.

Kimberly is credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is licensed to practice in California by the California Board of Nursing. Kimberly is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the California Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has been a member of the Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society for her academic achievement.

Kimberly also holds a Master’s degree in Music from UCSD and uses music therapy as a tool for mental health healing. She grew up in a military household and has seen second-handedly the duties and expectations which the military brings. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her toddler and her husband, and enjoys traveling.

Kimberly believes all angles of the patient should be considered such as social, personal, professional, and upbringing. She believes therapy can come in many different forms based on individualized needs. She believes in treating the whole patient and strives to better help them in multiple facets, not just mental health.
